An answer to "What's For Dinner"

I was just thinking a couple of weeks ago how we needed a delivery service that will bring meals from different restaurants around town right to your door. Well, TW brought me home an advertisement tonight for a new service called Tiger's Takeout. I am super pumped about this! The restaurant choices range from McDonald's to Trattoria. You can order and pay online. Brilliant! You can even order in advance and put what time you want the meal to be delivered. So, order your meals for the week and they will be there waiting for you when you get home from work, ballgames, or dance. I can't wait to try this out!

Check outTiger's Takeout!

Thursday Thirteen

13 Things I would like to do to my house:

1. New carpet. I would love to have it in the whole house, but the main level NEEDS it.
2. New stainless steel appliances. Our stove/oven and dishwasher are on their last leg.
3. New countertops in the kitchen.
4. Knock out the wall in between our kitchen and living room to make the space feel more open.
5. New end table, coffee table, and entertainment center in the living room.
6. Fix the siding.
7. Tile floor in master bathroom.
8. Paint the master bathroom.
9. Paint the front door and shutters a new color.
10. New shower door in master bathroom.
11. Window treatments in dining room, living room, and master bath.
12. New landscaping.
13. Redo the office. It is more of a collection spot of mismatched things.

Proactive Parenting

This is my goal for the summer. I have chosen to call it proactive parenting. I am choosing to be proactive about our summer schedule. With our oldest being in school I realized that my daily routine was going to be changing with her now being home during the days. I know it is almost the end of June, but right after school was out we went on an eight day vacation so this past week was our actual first full week home with school being out. I have been, proactively, paying attention to the amount of time the kids are watching TV compared to other activities they are engaged in. I am wanting to come up with a daily schedule for each day of the week. Nothing rigid, just something to keep us on track. For now the schedule is in my mind and nothing written. I still need to do some more research. In the mornings the girls watch TV until breakfast. We then eat together in the kitchen, not in front of the TV, which is where they would prefer. AAP then has journal time, much like she would do at school. She sits in the kitchen and writes a journal entry and then illustrates it. AKP works on her "homework", a preschool workbook I bought for her, during this time. The final projects are posted on the refrigerator. It is then time to get dressed and ready for the day. AAP will then work on her reading and AKP looks through books. At this time on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we are headed to the gym for me to workout. When we get home the girls watch TV and the baby takes a nap while I shower and prepare lunch. After lunch we either head to the pool, play outside, run errands, go to the library, etc. I think this is a pretty good routine for us, but I am still playing around with it. I am also looking into more activities we can do around town. Any ideas let me know!

M.I.A.

Where have I been lately? On VACATION! We went on a cruise with my family and got back this past weekend. I have since been trying to crawl out from under all of the laundry piles and get all of the bags unpacked. I have three loads of laundry left and I need to get the clean stuff put away. This is my goal for tomorrow! So, now that I am back in "reality" and not in cruise land where you walk around with a coma from all of the food you have eaten, I will be posting more often. When I get my pics uploaded I will try to post some! We went on the Freedom of the Seas ship which is by Royal Caribbean. It was great! It had: three or four pools, surfing, rock climbing, putt putt golf, golf simulator, ice skating, food, and more food! I highly suggest it!

Help! My pantry is full and I have nothing to eat!

I get in these moods where I am hungry and I can't find anything in the house to eat. I open the refrigerator and I find nothing, I open the freezer and I find nothing, I open the pantry and I find nothing, so then I head back to the refrigerator like something new is going to have appeared, right, but of course I still find NOTHING. Or at least nothing that I want to eat. Ughhh, what a frustrating feeling. Hubby is gone and I am at home with the kiddos. I could order something for delivery, but no nothing that delivers to my house sounds good. Plus I ordered pizza for lunch. Of course I find something that sounds good, but they don't deliver to my house. By now, my three year old has fallen asleep in the rocking chair so I can't go get anything either. At this point I decide to hit up my sister to deliver some food, nahhhh she would rater not do that. Can't say I blame her though. By now my six year old is hungry and she settles for a bologna sandwich and some grapes. The baby needs to be fed so I put him in his high chair and give him some carrotts and pears, not mixed together. Then I tell myself, it is just food, pick something and eat it already! What did I end up with? A bowl of Bran Flakes and two pieces of toast with cream cheese. Definitely NOT what I had in mind!
