Random Thoughts From the Day

1. I told AKP that we would take her to Chuck E Cheese when she learned how to write her name; this is something we have been working on. Well, she did it so last night we were eating pizza and the kids were playing games. Some of our good friends went along for the celebration. It was fun/chaotic!
2. "In MY Jesus name I pray," AKP closes her prayer. Absolutely melts my heart! We pray every night before bed together with the kids. We each take our turn. AKP has been praying for a while, but it used to be something very silly like "And, look at my dolly's hair after she went swimming. Amen." But, now she has gotten more sophisticated, for a three year old, in her praying. She often gives thanks for fun things she did during the day, for Jesus dying on the cross and coming back to life, and for her family and friends. "In MY Jesus name I pray, Amen!"
3. Do you have a favorite band? This is a normal question that people ask and I usually don't have a definite answer. I like a lot of different types of music and to pick one group was always hard for me. But, I now have a favorite group. Nickelback is my favorite by far! Great music and lyrics!
4. It was rainy and cold here today. I took the kids to the mall and I met up with my good pal Brandy. She was going to call me on my cell when she got to the mall. After parking and unloading the kids, the stroller, my purse, the diaper bag, and coats we strolled into the mall in the rain and wind. As soon as we get inside I figure out that I have left my cell phone in the car. So, instead of taking us all back outside to get the stinkin thing I decide to use a payphone. I can't remember the last time I did this. Did you know it costs 50 cents to make a call now? How ridiculous is that? Come on...everyone and their grandma has a cell phone. You would think the price of a call would be less to give people an incentive to use the payphone. Seriously!
5. My oldest is in kindergarten and she is amazing me at what she has learned at school. "See this mom, this is a tibula." Oh really, a tibula. I don't think I learned that until freshman year health class. She is in kindergarten. What will they be learning later? Pretty cool.
