Monkey Boy
My little bubby is quite the handful lately. Not necessarily bad behavior, just testing me in different ways then the girls ever did. His newest thing is to get out of bed, after I have tucked him in - specifically at nap time, and play in his room. Some days he will play in there for over an hour before he will actually get in bed and fall asleep and some days he plays and decides he is not going to sleep at all. When we would go in to get him up from nap we noticed that somehow he was getting his little lamp turned on. Keep in mind that the lamp is up on his changing table. TW asked him to show him how he was getting up there. It is quite the process. He drags his chair over to the dresser/changing table, crawls up the handles on the drawers, and leans up on it to balance himself while turning the lamp on. Well, yesterday was a whole new experience. I rocked him and laid him down pretty sleepy, in hopes that he wouldn't get out of bed to play. Well, my plan was not successful. I went down to the living room to lay with AKP and watch cartoons when I heard, stomp-stomp-stomp, that is him running around his room playing. This went on for about an hour before he finally laid down. When TW went to get him out of bed he yelled down for me to come upstairs. The room was trashed. Toys and stuffed animals everywhere. But, that wasn't even the most startling part. The dresser/changing table was tipped over on its side with all of the drawers pulled out. There was never a loud band or thump that I heard so I don't know when this happened, but when I saw the sight it freaked me out. I have heard on the news about cases where kids get trapped under their dresser that has tipped over. Scary! This is something I never had to worry about with the girls, but now that is not the case. I moved the lamp to a low table in hopes that he won't be tempted to climb up on the dresser. I am going to have to glue him to his bed I guess. :)
