Road Trip...Should Be Interesting!

We leave tomorrow morning for a road trip to Wisconsin for TW's annual meeting for work. This is the first year that we have taken the kids, since AAP was a baby. While there are meetings there are other activities geared towards families and kids. It should be a good time...once we get there. The girls travel pretty well in the car. AAP does great watching movies, reading books, playing game boy, and coloring. AKP does pretty well, but her stomach starts to bother her after a while of traveling. JDP on the other hand is a whole different story. He can only stand the car for short periods. Beings that he is always on the move, sitting still in the car is not his idea of fun. He will sleep for about 45 minutes and then when he wakes up he is done and all of his patience is gone. Screaming is the response we get for the rest of the trip. This hasn't been too horrible because our longest commute is usually an hour and a half. However, the six and a half hour trip tomorrow might really rock our world. We are pretty nervous that he is going to cry the whole way. Luckily we have our babysitter going with us, so she can help us entertain him. This should be pretty interesting though!

Filling up the car with gas.....$75.00
Drinks and snacks for the road trip.....$93.36
Babysitter to travel with us.....$10/hour when she is alone with the kids
A peaceful ride to Wisconsin.....PRICELESS

I will be thinking of you! I remember those road trips with young kiddos (little TW!)

Looks like you are prepared with snacks & such-might have to stop and let little TW move around a little. It can't be any worse than the trip to Omaha when you were pregnant with him!

Have a safe trip!

Which is worse? Traveling with a crying child or with 80 year old parents who don't feel good and want to treat you like you're 16? That was my last trip. I do hope he stays entertained or sleeping when you're on the move and the time will pass quickly.
